Lala Bahtikyan

Lala is a true mother, and she is only 45 years old. Her story touches the heart. They say lightning doesn’t strike the same place twice, but not this time. Lala’s son, tanker Raffi, heroically died in battle in Artsakh on October 12, 2020. After enduring the horror of losing her child, Lala decided she would become a mother again, calling her son once more: “Raffi, come home… Raffi, dinner is getting cold… Raffi, have you done your homework…”. And so it happened… Lala gave birth to a second son and named him Raffi. In a couple of days, he will be 5 months old.

But now there is a new battle in their family, one that could take Lala’s own life if we don’t help them – right now. The woman has been diagnosed with blood cancer (acute lymphoblastic leukemia). Of course, the stress could not pass without a trace; the disease struck when Lala was in the most vulnerable state, grieving. She now urgently needs a bone marrow transplant, and the doctors are preparing her for surgery.

This is a very simple family: Lala has worked her whole life as a nanny in a kindergarten, and her husband Arcrun is a guard at the Gavar hospital. They also have a 21-year-old daughter who is a student at Gavar State University.

For us, this is the story of an Armenian mother who must live! This is an Armenian mother who gave her son to our Motherland and gave birth to another future defender!
